Daisy Alcaraz Patricia Andrews State and Local Government February 14, 2019 S&LG Ch.5 In chapter five we take a look at what a political party is, it is an organization that nominates candidates to compete in elections and promote policy ideas. Even so the actions of the elected official play a major role in the operation of government which is also decentralized. We learned that with each political party their will be a group of ideologies that they tend to follow. The ideology of the political party is the core beliefs about how the political system should run. The two most famous political parties are the republicans and the democrats. The republicans tend to be more conservative while democrats tend to be more liberal in comparison to the republicans.
